The Office of the Director – Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE) at Vivekananda Global University plays a transformative role in the strategic planning, development, execution, and continuous quality enhancement of the University’s Online and Open & Distance Learning (ODL) programs. Aligned with the vision of equitable and inclusive education as outlined in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and in strict adherence to UGC-DEB Regulations 2020, the office is committed to extending the reach of quality higher education to diverse and underserved learner populations across the country and beyond.
As a central administrative office, it ensures seamless integration of academic delivery, digital infrastructure, regulatory compliance, examination governance, and learner-centric services. From program design and content development to admissions, faculty coordination, student engagement, and certification, the Director’s Office oversees end-to-end operational excellence across all online and distance modalities.
The office plays a vital institutional role in contributing to national priorities such as improving the Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) and promoting affordable, flexible, and quality education for all. It also serves as a key stakeholder in the university’s digital transformation and academic expansion by fostering interdisciplinary learning pathways, industry-aligned curriculum frameworks, and technology-enabled teaching.
